Aug 27 – Liverpool, England –  I was in Liverpool for the opening of a permanent exhibition of my photos at the Beatles Story Museum. Also unveiled was a piano used by John Lennon that had just arrived from New York. Here at the press conference I’m with May Pang, Museum director Martin King, and John Lennon’s half sister Julia Baird.

Feb 25 - Los Angeles - I was in Los Angeles to donate a large print of my photo of Elton John at Carnegie Hall in 1972 to be auctioned at his Aids Foundation Oscar Viewing party. The photo sold for $34,000!

  • Bob Gruen is one of the most well known and respected photographers in Rock and Roll. By the mid ’70s he was already regarded as one of the foremost documenters of the scene working with major attractions such as John Lennon & Yoko Ono, Tina Turner, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, Kiss etc., and also covering the emerging New Wave and Punk bands including The New York Dolls, Patti Smith, Clash, Sex Pistols, Ramones & Blondie.
